There are enough dove that shooting past 30yds is not necessary. Most shots are around 15 to 20 yards. Plus I am my own retriever so shooting them close works better for me. (code for 81yrs old). Have not found any pellets in the breasts, which is all we save.

I don't do pictures.

Thanks for replying back! I am thinking of trying 11s in my mossberg 500 410 for Eurasian collared doves. I used lead 7.5s 11/16 ounce. My first attempt on hunting with it. I only harvested 6 but I had a blast all the same.

It's amazing how those doves have spread around and established themselves. Where are you hunting them?

Been offline for awhile, medical, traveling..... back in the U.P. now. We(normally two of us, and sometimes three) are hunting Eurasians in the Imperial Valley, in southeast CA. Our highest count, for three of us shooting, has been 228 in one afternoon. Shooting time was just a bit over two hours. This is strictly pass shooting. We like days with high winds.... 25mph or more, for best results. The EUs fly very low when the winds are howling. Don't know why, just happy that they do. We have been using 3/4oz #7 lead at 1200fps in our 28s. Smaller than #7 size shot has not worked well for us. Those EUs are tough birds!!!.

As of 1 July ALL of CA will be no-tox. Would love to use all TSS but I would have to go on "food stamps". Still trying to work out an affordable solution.
