TSS Size - Distance and load

Postby Fabalis » Tue Jul 18, 2017 4:24 am

Hi all,

Ii have made a software and a table to give the load of TSS you need function of the distance and the species you hunt.

It's based on the penetration and the .7 rule, assuming that the 40 yard density is 100%, which is normally achieved with TSS.

The density needs for each bird is written in red and are those in a 30" circle.

Roll with it. If you stay above 55 the wheel wont fall off.

So, explaining a little bit more, the blue cells are with the optimal load but all the green work. The yellow one are just at the limit of penetration and the white are under the necessary.

The V0 velocity is around 1350 fps (400 m/s).

The penetration are as follwing :

- Big Duck : 1.5" (38 mm)
- Average Duck : 1" 1/4 (32 mm)
- Teals Woodcock : 1" 1/8 (28 mm)
- Gosse : 2" 1/4 (57 mm)

If you want more charts with different penetration just ask.
