I’m also looking for a 12ga 1oz load recipe with #9 TSS. You’re help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I've been taking published recipes for steel and replacing .25 oz of the steel pellets with .25 oz of TSS at the bottom of the wad. The key thing is to substitute the next smaller size wad of the same style called for in the recipe.

In other words I'll use a 7/8 oz wad of the same style called for in the 1.0 oz recipe. You don't need any filler and they seem to crimp well. You may have to play around with adding or removing 2-5 steel pellets.

My buddies and I are just getting into reloading, and also just found the 'magic' of TSS. We duck hunt some seriously windy territory, and most of our shots are passing shots. Our hope is to fill in the holes and gaps left by 3 and 4 steel. I do not think that we need much more than 1/8th oz of TSS per shell given that I stoned a Tom dead at 63 yards with a 20 gauge and #9 TSS, and a single one of the outliers broke the thigh bone.

Anyway, curious if anyone has a good recipe for 2 3/4 inch shells that we hope to keep in at least the 1400+FPS range using approx. 1 oz steel and 1/8 oz TSS #9. Any help is appreciated!

Precision Reloadings Lightning Steel manual. If you buy the 7/8 oz wads you can fit 1.0 oz of duplex loads in them. Also go to Alliants website and find some recipes for 1.125 oz loads with PR wads. You can fit 1.125 oz duplex loads in a 1.0 oz wad of the same style.
