Tss #4 1 1/4oz

Postby manchap » Fri Oct 19, 2018 10:42 am

As above i tried to put together a 12g 2 3/4" 1 1/4oz load of #4 TSS with 2 3/4""sam 1 wad , the load calls for a felt packer in bottom of the shot cup and one on top of the shot.
Well when i have put it together it needs 4 felt packers , where am i going wrong ?

If you have weighed the TSS #4, 1-1/4 oz shot charges you probable haven't done anything wrong. Are your felt wads 1/8" thick?

Lots of shotgun shell hunting load data is not perfect when it comes to the amount of filler wads needed. Is the load data you are using for TSS shot?

I would put all of the felt wads under the TSS #4 shot. I would also use a Mylar wrap inside the Sam 1 wad.

Hi yes they are 1/8" thick , the data is from RSI VOL4 Cheddite hull,
might have to re think the load ?
Thank you for looking and your reply.

If the RSI data is for 1-1/4 oz of 12g/cc HW13 shot, 1-1/4 oz of 18g/cc TSS shot takes up way less space than the less dense HW13 shot does.
