20 gauge 3" Duplex for Benelli

Postby phillip.imamura » Sun Jul 28, 2019 9:52 pm

Anyone had problems load a 20 ga 3" hull with a roll crimp for a Benelli? Hal said Italian guns have feed problems with long hulls. I've tried 4 different duplex loads with roll crimps and can't get a finished length less than 2.70". I checked the length on 2 different factory rounds (Kent and Hevi Metal) and they measure 2.550 and 2.650. I've tried trimming my hulls and pulling out shot filler wads to reduce the overall length but no success. Any suggestions for a duplex load that will work?

Not a 20g but in a 12g i had to take the plug out of the magazine tub (Not sure if your gun has one ?) and shorten the plug by 5mm . Had to do the same with a bps in both 12g and 10g for RTO loads.

Hope this helps

Have you tried the 2-3/4" duplex loads?

Hal that seems to be the best way to go with my 20 ga Benelli. I'll email you.

I have been using a 2 3/4" load from Hal as well as one from precision reloading in a fiocchi hull. Both shoot very well out to 50 yards so I don't have a need for a 3" hull. Just my 2¢.
